Deeper Down

Deep down,
we want to shine bright.
We want
to be free.

And yet,
there is a place
deep down,
that feels safer.
A place
where we want to hide.
Hide
from our true selves.

Deep down,
we are afraid.
Afraid
of our darkness.
Afraid
to see
ourselves fully.

Can we
shine
and
hide
at the same time?

The answer is no.

So we dig deeper.

And deeper down,
we want to love
and be loved.
And
when that becomes
our reason to live,
we are no longer hiding.
We shine
BRIGHT.
Real bright.
